Global Technology Services PMO - Senior Project Manager

The GTS PMO provides a wide spectrum of project management services while offering strategic solutions to various IT teams within a dynamic global organization. The team is structured on three primary pillars: a keen understanding of our business goals; in-depth project management knowledge including analysis and research; and strong, stable working relationships. The GTS PMO manages projects globally, applying the same adherence to quality regardless of the size of the project.

The project manager is ultimately responsible for the successful development of project solutions, working with cross-functional resources (networking, server administration, core communications, end user technology, backup & recovery and storage) to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget according to defined scope, timeline and cost parameters.
In addition to having strong Project / Program skills, members of the PMO team should be experienced managing large-scale mission critical projects on a global scale.

Specific Responsibilities

- Assist in the development of the project life cycle and project plan. Ability to identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks. Ability to manage multiple projects / programs simultaneously.

- Drive and manage the project life cycle while negotiating, defining, communicating and managing the scope of project(s).

- Create and maintain and effectively execute project plans, project schedule, which includes defining activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements.

- Manage client expectations correctly and be able to work to resolve conflicts when needed while using creative decision making to decide where and when the proper escalation is needed.

- Establish clear project parameters supporting the success of all internal and client team members. Plan and manage internal and external project communications, ensuring effective, objective and professional exchange of the project information, and deliverables

- Provide and promote high standards of professionalism, integrity and leadership throughout the life of projects, both within and outside the organization, appropriately representing our client's business philosophies, protocols and standards.

- Forecast, track and manage project budgets, POs and invoices to our client's corporate policy.

- Manage effective and accurate completion of new business proposals. Leverage and institutionalize the use of the company's Project Framework

- Work with department designated Business Relationship Managers to insure all aspects of client needs are being met and exceeded.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience (within a technical discipline) with at least 5 years as a senior lead Project and / or Program manager.
- Project implementation experience with Oracle FUSION (SOA)
- Project implementation experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
- PMO experience dealing with multiple disciplines / technologies including; MS Windows Server, Unix Servers, Linux, Notes Messaging, Security/firewall technologies, Desktops (Windows/MAC) and Networking technologies
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional technical teams within budgetary, resource and schedule constraints.
- Demonstrated experience directing internal and client teams involved in multiple activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques
- Each member of the team contributes to the ongoing evolution of the PMO â?? the ability to apply â??lessons leanedâ? in a positive manner to support continuous improvement is a must.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to work with Senior Management on projects/program proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
- Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure activities.
- Ability to be agile and adaptable in this environment is critical.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation and negotiation.
- Strong verbal, written communications and presentation skills. Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and Visio.
- Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of broader project & program. Ability to set and manage expectations

Additional Experience Considered a Plus:
- Experience with large infrastructure build-out projects, large data conversions and system overhauls.
- Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry experience
- Project Management Certification (optional)
- ITTL (optional)
