IT Analyst - HR I/T
Position Overview:
As a member of the North American Human Resources IT team, the candidate in this role will develop and support all aspects of the North American HR application portfolio. This involves a variety of applications with an emphasis on the PeopleSoft HR and Learning applications. The analyst will be involved in projects of varying complexity and scope. This person will also frequently leverage services provided by internal and external technical resources.
This position requires independent and original thinking to provide innovative technical solutions to meet business objectives of those areas that support the HR Function. This broad mix of responsibilities will give exposure to several key areas of the Corporate HR Function as well as enhance your analytical and technical skills to position you for future growth and leadership opportunities.
Principal Accountabilities:
45% Application Development:
Utilize vendor supplied and industry standard technologies to develop and enhance business applications per business requirements. Must be able to interpret functional requirements and complete technical design. Solutions must be cost effective and technically efficient.
45% Application Support:
Provide application support for existing HRMS applications. Including: Research problems independently using multiple resources. Break/fix analysis and programming. Batch job scheduling and monitoring. Application of software maintenance. Application of patches and upgrades. Make decisions regarding operational and application corrections. Provide recommendations regarding procedures and deadlines.
5% Maintain project timekeeping and technical documentation per standards.
5% Work with the team to improve work processes and identify cost savings opportunities.
Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience
3 or more years of work experience in an IT function in both a support and development role
3 or more years of development and/or programming experience
3 or more years of experience using SQL
Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call pager rotation
Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently
Excellent organizational skills with proven, dependable follow-through
Must be able to communicate effectively with business peers, IT peers, and suppliers to identify technology solutions
Experience using PeopleSoft version 8.8 or higher.
Experience with PeopleSoft Integration Tools (Integration Broker, Component Interface)
PeopleSoft development/support experience in at least two of the following areas: Payroll, Benefits Administration, Manger/Employee Self-Service, ELearning.
Experience using the following PeopleSoft tools: SQR, People Tools, Application Engine
MUST HAVE:
Developed inbound and outbound trading partner interfaces.
PeopleSoft Integration tools (Integration Broker, Component Interface)
Applied PeopleSoft upgrades and patches
General knowledge of formal change control processes, i.e. viaTIL.
