Senior/Lead Load Testing Engineer
Responsibilities:
Experience and knowledge of both business and technology systems and architecture to analyze software development requirements, system design documentation, and existing systems to identify expected load points, bottlenecks, rendezvous areas, session lengths, ambiguities, peak usage times and other performance impacts
Gather all the information needed for pre-test activities, plan kick-off meetings with application owner and representatives of each area that is related to the application (Networking rep, OS rep, App-Server rep, Web-Hosting rep, etc.) Prepare load test plans and facilitates walkthroughs. Create reports related to performance of databases, operating systems, application servers, etc. Hold a post- test walkthrough with project team members. Work with other technical resources to interpret basic test results, identify first-level bottlenecks and advise on potential solutions to system problems. Collate and analyzes test results, monitors data, etc., to create reports. Facilitate meetings to go over findings and presents reports from test results, monitors, logs, etc.
Research the information necessary for network interface, routing tables and/or ports requirements to make sure that all required connectivity's are in place for test target. Identify monitoring needs of the application under test and configures all the required elements to be able to collect relevant data from JVMs, DATA SOURCES, Servlets, etc. Prepare the actual test environment for load testing. Maintain load testing operational environment to make sure the environment is working accurately and not causing misleading test results. .Using expert level knowledge of multi-tiered applications in different platforms and the interaction of resources to effect system optimization during tuning process, executes load, stress, capacity, fail-over testing.
Advise customers on load testing issues. These issues include environmental, infrastructure, system capabilities, product knowledge, optimization, problem identification and limitations.
Required:
· Minimum 10 years proven work experience in IT and minimum of 5+ years working directly with HP LoadRunner
· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from US accredited College or University
· Expert level knowledge of several testing and software lifecycle development methodologies
· Must have detailed working knowledge of LoadRunner components, including VuGen, Controller, Load Generators, Agents, and Analysis and Monitoring tools
· Must have detailed experience analyzing LoadRunner test results and forming those into an articulate, accurate report for business, development, management, and operations stakeholders.
· Must understand and be able to articulate key performance engineering concepts, including threading, concurrency, response time, latency, throughput, fault tolerance, load balancing, and high availability.
· Certified in Software Testing or Quality Assurance
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as research and analytical problem solving skills in a dynamic environment
· Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of personal computer software applications including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and MS Project.
