We are looking for a Mid Level Java / PHP Developer. This is a 3-6 month contract position (possible contract to hire) with our client in Denver, CO. Job Description: The Software Engineer will create working applications and application modules for a large system as part of a team. The successful candidate is someone who is organized, enjoys software designing and coding, executes to the necessity of rapid priority changes, and enjoys working in a team environment. Job Responsibilities: * Participate in a small distributed team designing and developing in PHP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Web Services, and Oracle. * Software development including estimating, technical specifications, coding, source control and unit testing. * Design and code functional routines and modules in accordance to a software engineering specification (use case). * Participate in design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews, formal code reviews, bug triage, and functional walkthroughs. Job Requirements: * 3-5 years of experience using PHP, Java, JavaScript, XML, and HTML. * 2-3 years of experience doing Object Oriented development. * Strong skills and experience in writing SQL queries, designing databases, developing database applications, and Object-Relational mapping required. * Experience with implementing common Object Oriented patterns in PHP 5 a plus. * Experience with Oracle Database and PL/SQL. * Experience with Toad for Oracle a plus. * Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server a plus. * Experience with Zend Framework or similar MVC frameworks a plus. * Experience with JavaScript required. * Knowledge of jQuery and AJAX a plus. * Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, SOAP, REST, JSON a plus. * Experience with Linux and Windows a plus. * Excellent analysis and problem solving skills required. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Experience in developing with Subversion or equivalent. * Experience in developing with Zend Development Environment (ZDE) / Zend Studio a plus.
