Our client has an immediate opening for a Mid Level software engineer with DOD/Simulation experience to join their team. This is great opportunity to join a mid sized growing company and add to your skill set!
Job Description:
The candidate will examine the GUI of an existing stand-alone Java application that currently communicates to a back-end Training Simulation application via RMI. The candidate will then, with the assistance of other team members, design and develop the combination of a new browser-based front-end and middle tier server that duplicates the functionality of the GUI while maintaining communication with the legacy back-end application.
Responsibilities:
The candidate shall develop a set of Use Cases defining the behavior of the proposed interface and how it interacts with the middle tier layer and ultimately the back-end application. From these documents, software-level requirements will be derived. The candidate will then design the system using UML tools and generate diagrams (class, sequence, state transition, etc.). The candidate will then write the code to implement the models and unit test new functionality. The candidate will also be responsible for developing formal test procedures to be used for regression and acceptance testing with the government. All software development will be done using OOA/OOD methodologies; primarily in Java.
Education:
B.S. in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Required Skills:
Minimum of a total of 4 years engineering experience required for this position. 3+ years of doing Web-Based development experience utilizing a N-tier or MVC architecture and 3+ years of experience in OOA/OOD using UML and Java or equivalent language in a Linux or Windows environment. Strong experience with J2EE, Applets and Servlets a must.
Other requirements:
Must have the ability to obtain an interim security clearance immediately upon hire.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Modeling and Simulation is desirable and will be a discriminator.
