Tank Farm Construction Manager

Our client is the number one apple juice supplier worldwide. The group manufactures and distributes fruit juice concentrate and related products. More than 90% of these products are exported to nearly 30 countries, including the USA, Canada, Germany, Australia, Russia, and Japan. Their output accounts for approximately 12% of the global market. The customers include the world’s top beverage and food companies. Our client is constantly expanding production capacity and developing new fruit and vegetable juice products. They have 8 processing plants in northeastern China, 1300 employees overall with a Business office housed in New York. We have been retained by the VP of Marketing to conduct a search for a Tank Farm Operations Manager. This is a Greenfield opportunity to work on the initial project scoping, construction, staffing and eventually provide operational leadership for the completed tank farm. For our client this is the first tank farm being built to serve their large US customer base, future plans include the construction of additional tank farms throughout the USA.

Mandate:

The Tank Farm Manager will oversee the design and construction of a tank farm in Florida while being responsible for quality and safety until the completion of the project.  Once the project is completed, the role will become one of General Management  responsible for the ongoing operation of the Tank Farm. The management of the tank farm will include being responsible for bulk cargo logistics, and the ongoing efficiency of tank farm operations.  This will be the first tank farm built by the client in the USA, career progression may include future leadership of multiple sites

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing commissioning and construction of a state-of–the-art aseptic juice tank farm, followed by operational oversight of tank farm


• Responsible for implementing strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement of production, and sanitation process and procedures.


• Lead teams; create a work environment which reflects a commitment to employee safety, product quality, food safety, and positive employee relations.


• Coordination with relevant government officials

Qualifications:

• Aseptic (Food Grade) Tank Construction Project Management  and Operation experience


• Strong knowledge of governmental bodies and regulations involved in the Florida juice industry


• Plant management experience in beverage industry


• Strong knowledge of the juice market


• Ability to bring teams together to work towards a common goal


• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English; additional languages skills are an advantage


• Ability to operate in multicultural teams


• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, advanced degree preferred

Compensation:

A competitive base salary is offered, plus a bonus. Final compensation will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience level and background.
