We are looking for an ITIL Foundations Certified Quality Assurance Manager. This is a 6 month Contract To Hire position with valued client in Denver, CO.


Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for defining and streamlining a Quality Assurance practice from the ground floor.  Focus on the full lifecycle of software product quality assurance, including: requirements and specification reviews, test resource management, test planning, design, review and execution.  You will align other groups within the .it department and be expected to provide strong leadership in an organization that values cross-departmental collaboration, quality and customer satisfaction.  You will interface directly with .it management team and other members of the .it department as well as business constituents.  In addition to standing up and executing on a QA practice, you will serve as the Release Manager and manage, via change control processes, all the .it maintenance and project releases.  You will be responsible for setting up test environments and ensuring the integrity of those environments.


 


Required Skills:


·          Working knowledge of QA processes, development processes and release processes.


·          Thoroughly understands the Software Development Lifecycle and how Quality Assurance plays a role throughout the lifecycle.


·          Serve as the Quality Center administrator.


·          SOA (web services) testing


·          ERP implementation testing


·          ITIL Foundations certified


·          Agile testing and development techniques     


 


Required/Preferred Education:


·          Four year college degree, preferably in related area


 


Years of Experience Preferred/Required:


7-10 years experience in multiple technology projects for various functional business units.  Years experience can be replaced by size and magnitude of technology participation.


 


Other Requirements:


·          Preference is background in food & beverage industry, retail or consulting


·          Experience with various development methodologies, techniques, and tools


·          Experience using quality assurance tools, such as HP Quality Center


·          Strong experience in custom development, third-party implementations, service oriented architecture and the software development lifecycle


·          Excellent verbal and written communication skills


·          Multitasking and defining units of work that can be effectively tracked and measured


·          Planning and organization skills


·          Strong relationship skills with developers, analysts, project managers and business users


·          Creativity and innovation


 


Software Utilized:


·          Mercury (HP) Test tools (Quality Center, Quick Test Pro, Load Runner)


·          Open Source test tools (Selenium, Watir, SoapUI)


·          Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)


·          Experience testing .NET and Java applications


·          Preferably experience with MOSS


·          Service Now


                         


Supervisory Responsibility:


·          Responsible for supervising QA Analysts (full-time and contractor); Ability to lead and build consensus is critical.


 


Essential Responsibilities:      


·          Define best-in-class QA methodology, processes and tools that can be adapted into the organization.


·          Streamline QA framework via change management, communication, training and audit/enforcement techniques.


·          Setup and maintain controls and documentation procedures.


·          Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.


·          Serve as a Release Manager, utilizing ITIL principles, and manage/own ‘Request for Change’ process, release schedules, risk and impact analysis and communication to the field on releases.


·          Setup new test environments in the test lab, updated test environments and ensure the integrity of all test environments to ensure they replicate production environments and are up to date.


·          Provide leadership, direction and oversight to QA Analysts on methodology, processes, tools and reporting.  Serve as a resource for issue resolution.


·          Manage activities associated with resolving problems, analyze results, determine corrective actions and report results to appropriate parties.


·          Proactively keep Management apprised of status, issues and risks.


·          Monitor performance and gather relevant data and produce statistical reports to communicate progress and performance.


·          Identify areas affected by a change request and author test plans that consist of scope, strategy, approach and execution.


·          Validate functional requirements and generate a requirements traceability matrix.


·          Create and execute test scripts to satisfy requirements traceability.


·          Track defects by identifying, dating, documenting and resolving the defect found and determining trend analysis while developing mitigation strategies.


·          Manage activities associated with resolving problems, analyze results, determine corrective actions and report results to appropriate parties.


·          Ability to take direction and then work independently or with a Team as required.


·          Conduct Peer Reviews with Users and Developers for completeness of Unit, System and User Acceptance Testing.


·          Assist users in preparing, conducting and evaluating results of User Acceptance Testing.


·          Identify, streamline and improve QA and SDLC processes. Assist in the creation of Departmental quality standards, policies, procedures, templates and reference library.


·          Assist in developing documentation and training examples for system changes or upgrades.


·          Continually work towards best practices.


·          Responsible for other duties as assigned or developed.
